Digital Dispensing

The system can contactless dispense a very wide selection of liquids over a wide volume range from 50 nanoliters to over 2 milliliters. Spotting mode is either ‘on-the-fly’ or ‘stop & go’, in either serpentine or straight paths.

Angled Dispensing

The angled valve head allows for the dispensing of liquids along the side of the well wall. This minimizes foaming effects often seen with cell suspensions. Well suited to dispense growth media, or buffers atop fixed cells.

Reservoir
Options

Whether you need a large bulk reservoir for the dispensing of cells, bottles for bulk dispensing proteins, or small tubes to minimize dead volumes, the Precise Drop II has options for your materials.

Manifold Valve Holder

Dispense cells from bulk, from 1uL to 50 uL, by recirculating the cells at the valve to help keep them in suspension.

Valve Dispensing Verification

This new, patent-pending feature ensures that each valve is functioning correctly during the priming process.

Reliable and Accurate

The uniquely integrated and automated calibration methodology employed, produces independent calibration curves for each channel. Full or partial curves can easily be generated.

The same software is used to control both the BioRAPTR 2.0 and Precise Drop II.

Flexible Software

The Precise Drop II can accept BioRaptr files as input, or Excel templated files you can create on your own. It also comes with powerful software to design plate maps that suit your need. Each valve can get its own dispense pattern. Any well can be selected for dispense.

Design of Experiment

The Precise Drop II can dispense varying volumes for each and every well. This is perfect if you carry DoE optimizations, or simply to produce gradients.

Dose Response

A common application is to use the dispenser to generate concentration gradients. This is achieved via the easy-to-use software interface.

Precise Software and Dispense Control

Precise Drop II delivers unparalleled flexibility, with a self-contained browser-based control system and software that scales right along with the system. Pick the configuration you need now; the software remains the same regardless of system as you grow. Add channels, change your substrate, and integrate into a larger system. The control system and software remains the same.

Each dispense channel has its own dedicated microcontroller, providing independent control and easy scalability. Channels can be coordinated, individually timed, or timed based upon some external event. This is critical for both multi-well dispenses and for multi-line dispense on membrane.

Each channel can dispense different volumes using identical or different size valves. Proper current drive control to each valve ensures that the valves last longer, deliver consistent results, and avoid overheating. Axis speed is fast while allowing settling between positions.

The software interface is browser-based, allowing operators to set up protocols and recipes using a smartphone, iPad, netbook, laptop, computer or any other web-based device. In addition, Precise Drop can interface to SiLA and TCP/IP socket.

Operators use the advanced software interface to:

  • Develop protocols/methods for dispensing
  • Create simple and advanced recipes from CSV input
  • Control valves and calibrations, with each channel fully adjustable
  • Define XYZ location
  • Move dispense head to wash, prime and clean station
